PROJECTS

Below is a range of projects completed during my time in education and a snapshot of some of the projects I worked on during my time in industry. These projects showcase the range of skills I have acquired throughout my educational career and in personal life that all relate to design or the architectural profession. BLACKBURN: REFRAMED
Blackburn: Reframed forms the final part of a three phase project that explores how technology is affecting our perception of the world around us and where it may head as we develop Augmented Reality technologies into our every day spatial experiences.
AGE REACTIVATION
Age Reactivation brings a mixed use building to the northern gateway area of Manchester. Passive active design through the use of engaging circulation routes combats the reduced activity linked to the home office flat typology providing balance to older workers who work from home.
SOCIAL SAFETY - HOUSING
Social Safety is a housing scheme proposal for a site in south Manchester with a focus on increased sense of community and intergenerational living. The scheme looks to create a new street like community to create increased social engagement for those that need it.
PROJECTS IN INDUSTRY
A selection of works completed during my time working in industry as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant.
THREAD (PROFESSIONAL STUDIES)
As part of a professional studies module a group of fellow students and I designed the framework for a design process management platform that aimed to bring structure to the construction industry.
FLEXIBLE HOUSING (DISSERTATION)
Within this dissertation I used graphic anthropology to perform a cross cultural comparison of 'Home' and Home Culture between the UK and Japan through the lens of flexibility.
RESIDENTIAL [AR]CHITECTURE
Bouncing off the research done for my thesis project allowed me to propose a set of new building regulations that ensures all new homes would be built with a strong connection to the virtual world.
THE GREAT VENETIAN CLEAN UP
My undergraduate thesis was a research and design project that aimed to tackle the waste issue in Venice lagoon by using the same technology as 'The Great Ocean Cleanup" but on a much smaller scale. The project looked to use the plastic collected by the systems to design architectural components made from recycled polymers.
