I have been interested in video as a media format for years and I have integrated this passion throughout my architectural education and personal life. The work below ranges from typical architectural showreels to cinematic personal videos and Art videos made during my thesis research. I produce my videos within Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects.
THESIS PROJECT
BLACKBURN: REFRAMED (2020)
This video was the final output of my thesis project which explored a future scenario in which architecture had been reduced to the bare necessities as the society's values shift towards "image" through the use of new technologies. This was a technical challenge that combined many traditional Architectural techniques such as modelling and static visualisation with less traditional techniques to create the animation.
INSTAGRAM REALITY - SURREALIST [AR]CHITECTURE (2020)
To create Instagram Reality I used a series of popular architectural instagram accounts as inspiration in order to mimic the fictional spaces they create within their visualisations. I used new software called Vectary to create the augmented reality model at a 1:1 scale and the iPhone 11s AR capabilities to implement it into Manchester. This is a unique video style that uses two cameras to film the physical world and the augmented world at the same time.
ARCHITECTURAL SHOWREEL
NURTUR HOUSE for DAVID COX ARCHITECTS (2019)
This video was completed during a stint working during the summer of my Masters degree. It was created to showcase a student accommodation project that was about to start construction as a piece of marketing content for the Architects I was working for and the accommodation itself. I aimed use people to tell the story of each space. For this project I used Archicad and Twinmotion to create the model and then composed the video within Premier Pro.
AGE REACTIVATION - MSSA (2019)
Age Reactivation is the product of my final professional design module at Manchester School of Architecture and this video acts as a visual overview of the design research/concept and the architectural proposal. I again aimed to use people to highlight the architectural space and using infographics to help display some of the research done during the development of this project.
THESIS ART PROJECTS
#4 I'M AFRAID OF RED, YELLOW AND BLUE (2019)
An augmented reality art intervention that uses a physical marker, in this case a painting within the Tate Britain, to trigger a 3d art piece.  When triggered this piece shows me walking into the gallery with a knife and slashing the painting in front of the audience. This project was a comment on the contrast between the power difference between actions happening within physical space and virtual space.
#5 PARALLEL REALITIES (2019)
An augmented reality art intervention that uses a physical marker, in this case a street art mural in Manchesters Northern Quarter, to trigger a 3d art piece.  When triggered this piece morphs the mural in Manchester into a series of murals in Palestine provides the viewer with a spatial visual/audio experience that highlights the contrast between the peace of Manchester and the Chaos of Palestine.
PERSONAL CINEMATIC
LONDON (2017)
A cinematic journey showing a weekend visit to London to see my friends. This video provides an insight into the normality of life through a cinematic style mixing the everyday with the dramatic.
PEGGY (2017)
This was a technical experiment in I challenged myself to use an iPhone 7+ to film a short that starred my family dog. I pushed the phone to its limits to create this stylised edit.
